Our story

FlyTravio started in 2018 because two of our founders kept getting asked the same favour by friends: “can you just plan this trip for us?” They were already doing it for free on weekends — checking visa rules, comparing hotel locations, working out which internal flight actually saved time rather than just money.

We built a company around that favour rather than around a booking engine. The platform came later, once it was clear that most travellers want to search and book themselves for the parts they understand, and hand off the parts they don't — sequencing, visas, the hotel that looks fine in photos but is 40 minutes from everything.

We are still privately held, still run day-to-day by people who each personally plan itineraries, and still measure ourselves less by revenue growth than by how many trip designers a customer needs to speak to before their trip is booked. The answer we aim for is one.

Timeline

Founded in Bengaluru

Started as a three-person desk booking custom South East Asia itineraries by phone and email — no website, just a spreadsheet and a WhatsApp number.

Sydney office opens

Australian demand for New Zealand and Pacific itineraries outgrew what we could handle remotely, so we opened a second desk in Sydney rather than outsource the calls.

The platform goes live

FlyTravio.com launched so travellers could search and book packages themselves — with the same trip designers on call for anyone who wanted the human version.

IATA and ATAS accreditation

Formal accreditation in both India and Australia, and every customer payment moved into a client trust account held separately from operating funds.

250,000 travellers

Crossed a quarter of a million bookings, still with a named trip designer attached to every package sold — that ratio was the one number we refused to let slip as we grew.

Show the real priceIf a fare looks too good, it's usually because something is missing from it — a transfer, a tax, a visa fee. We'd rather show you the honest number first.

Answer the phoneEvery package has a named trip designer attached, not a ticket queue. If something goes wrong at 2am on your trip, that person's number still works.
